While Shakespeare was busy writing ‘Love’s labour lost’ the Portuguese were busy setting up trade routes to India and settling down in the countryside of the state of Goa. While, they have long gone, their architectural influence can still be seen in the houses left from the bygone era. One such wonder is Mr. Culaco’s house on Charao Island. It was old, dilapidated, overrun by wild plants, in complete disrepair and had not been lived in for the past couple of decades.
